It was originally a restoration project of Jim Atkinson. The age of the instrument was estimated by Jonathan Ring. (Pre WW I) Later, Bruce Roberts completed the restoration which included - Replacing the tubing from the piston valve knuckle to the F side tuning slide. Installing a Bruce Roberts lead pipe. Replacing the screw bell hardware with an Alexander \"low mass\" ring. Adding a hand guard to the bell branch area. There is also a length of wire added to the first Bb tuning slide to make the high Bb center better. The horn comes with a Pope \/ MB 5 case.   \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe finish on the horn is very respectable and limited to minor imperfections.  Any and all issues have been addressed and the work done on the horn is phenomenal.   I do not see any signs of major dent work.  There are some minor dings, dents, surface scratches, and other signs of character.  The bell and tail are solid!  The Bruce Roberts lead pipe is in excellent condition.  The inside tubing looks fabulous!  This horn is absolutely gorgeous!  Please check out the pictures for further clarification of condition.  The horn was recently inspected;  all of the tuning slides and valve caps move freely, all of the braces are secure, and the valves are fast, quiet, and responsive with excellent compression.  I recently did a valve compression reading and the valves had compression readings between 0.0 - 0.4  Bruce Roberts did a fantastic job getting this horn back to its glory.  You may never see another CF Schmidt horn like this one come around.  The horn is priced to sell at $6950.00 with Free Postage.  I do offer free postage, but charge $25 dollars for the box, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts necessary to ship the horn safely.
