Up For Your Consideration Is A Alexander 103 Double French Horn!  I recently took  this horn on consignment from a former player of the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra.  This horn was played professionally for many years and is in very nice condition.   I am under the belief that this horn was produced between 1910 - 1920 based on the braces, paddles, and other characteristics of the horn that suggest this is a very early model Alexander 103.   Please send me a message if you have any way to determine the age the horn was produced more accurately?   For the age, the horn is in fantastic shape.  The horn was converted to a detachable bell at one time with an Alexander Ring Set.  For illustration purchases, I have verified that a Miles O'Malley Nickel Flare is compatible with the same ring set on this horn.  Check out the pictures.   It is always good to know that you can easily swap out bells if you desire a different sound.   If you buy a Flare with an true Alexander Ring set, it will be easy to have interchangeable Flares.   The purchaser of the 103 will only receive the yellow brass bell illustrated in the pictures.  The bell screws on very nicely.  The custom lead pipe is nice and straight.  The lead pipe takes an American Shank mouthpiece.  The previous owner got the valves re-plated by Chuck Ward at one time, and also had the Horn maintained over the years by Chuck Ward as well.   There are some very minor dings, dents, scratches, minor imperfections, and other signs of character.  Please check out the pictures for further clarification of condition.  The horn was recently given an inspection; and all of the braces are secure, all of the tuning slides move freely, and the valves are fast, quiet, and responsive with good compression.  THIS HORN IS A PLAYER AND WILL NOT DISSAPOINT.  The horn comes with a detachable bell case.   All sales come with a 10 day no fuss return policy.  Free Shipping in the Lower 48 States.   This horn will be available to test play at IHS 56.   Priced to sell at $5650.
