Up For Your Consideration Is A 1969 Conn 8D Double French Horn! I call this horn a "Legends' Double French Horn because of all the highly skilled French Horn geniuses that have worked on this Legendary Horn; which first started in 1969 when the pride-filled factory workers from Elkhart Indiana first laid their hands on this horn! Horns were built with pride back then, and that is with no exception with this legendary horn. The valves were recently re-plated by Chuck Ward in July of 2024. I consider Chuck a Legend when it comes to rebuilding valves. THE VALVES ARE TIGHT! PERFECT COMRESSION! THIS HORN IS A PLAYER! Chuck Ward did a wonderful job on the valves, and I consider myself lucky to be working with someone who takes so much pride in his craft. This beautiful horn has a brand new lead pipe that was made by perhaps one of the greatest French Horn Legends of all Time; the Legendary George McCracken! I wish I would have bought more lead pipes from George because he really knew what he was doing when it came to bending Conn 8D custom lead pipes. The Lead Pipe was installed by Fred Williams and the Bell was Cut by Fred Williams as well. THE BELL GOES ON SMOOTH AS BUTTER! Fred gave the horn an inspection and all of the braces are secure, all of the tuning slides pull freely, and the horn is in great condition thanks to Fred. The Tail of the horn had the lacquer removed and was given a very nice satin finish. You can still see the Elkhart Indiana engraving that looks amazing! The valve cluster still has the original lacquer in place and has a super nice finish! Please check out the pictures for further clarification of condition.
