Conn 8D Elkhart Indian N Series "Purist Special" Nickel Silver Double French Horn (Free Shipping Lower 48)

Up For Your Consideration is a Conn 8D Nickel Silver Double French Horn. This is an N Series which was made in Elkhart Indiana. Dare I ask if one should modify an Old Classic Elkhart or Leave it original? This horn was left alone with the original lead pipe, bell, tail, and valve cluster. The horn recently came out of the shop and was given and inspection. All of the braces are secure, all of the tuning slides move freely, all the valve caps move freely, and the valves are fast, quiet with decent compression. All of the valves have a valve compression reading between 2.0 and 3.0! The finish on the horn is respectable but does show signs of wear. There are some dings, dents, surface wear, signs of previous dent work, signs of previous solder work. The bell has dings and dents along with the lead pipe. Please check out the pictures for further clarification of condition. Do not let all the minor imperfections fool you, this horn still plays like a good Elkhart should play. You might want to consider replacing the lead pipe. I do have brand new Custom Miles O'Malley Lead Pipes available for direct purchase.
