Up for your consideration is a Conn 8D Elkhart Indiana L Series Double French Horn in good condition.  This horn is in good condition with excellent valve compression.  I recently did a valve compression test on this horn and the valves had compression readings between 0.2-0.8 THIS HORN IS A PLAYER!  This horn does show some sign of previous dent work on the Bell Flare with some scarring after the dents were rolled out.  The integrity of the bell is still very strong with no thins spots!  The Finish on the horn is original and looks wonderful for the horns age!  Overall, the finish on the horn is very respectable and limited to surface wear.  The Elkhart Indiana engraving looks wonderful!  There are some minor, dings, dents, surface scratches & wear; and other signs of character.  None of these imperfections affect the playability of this horn.  The horn has an amazing Hollywood sound that will not disappoint!  The original lead pipe is in good condition, and the inside tubing looks great!   Please check out the pictures for further clarification of condition.  This is a very nice horn with a lovely sound!  This horn recently came out of the shop and was given an inspection; All of the braces are secure, all of the tuning slides and valves caps move freely, and the valves are fast, quiet, and responsive with fantastic compression.  The serial number is posted for your review.  The horn comes with a case with 2 of the 3 latches functioning.  The buyer of this horn may consider upgrading the case.    If you are ever in the Chicagoland area, please schedule a visit to come out and test play some horns; I currently have over 8 Elkhart 8D's for sale.    Priced to sell at $3,950 with free postage in the lower 48 States.  I do offer free postage, but charge $25 dollars for the box, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts necessary to ship the horn safely. All Double French Horn purchases come with a 10 day No-Fuss Return Policy. Buyer may return the horn within 10 days of receiving the horn with no questions asked. The horn must be postmarked and shipped within 10 days of receiving the horn to initiate the return process. Buyer is responsible for return shipping charges. I do not charge a re-stocking fee for returns if you pay by check or cash. I also offer a 5% cash discount if you buy the horn in person. I do charge a 3.5% re-stocking fee if you pay with a credit card or PayPal. Credit card companies and PayPal do not refund payment processing fees. Buyer would be responsible for a 3.5% restocking fee in the case of a return if the payment is made with a Credit Card or PayPal.
