Up for your consideration is a Conn 8D Elkhart Indiana M Series Double French Horn that is absolutely lovely!  This horn is one of many Elkhart Conn 8D's that I have for sale!   Most importantly, this horn has good valve compression.  I recently did valve compression readings on all the valves, and the valves had readings between 0.6 - 1.6   THIS HORN IS A PLAYER!  The tail and Bell Flare look nice but do show some signs of previous dent work.    The horn recently had the lacquered removed and was given a very light brushed finish.  You can still see the Elkhart engraving on the bell very nicely!  The horn recently had an Alexander ring installed.  The Bell Flare screws on to the tail very smoothly!   There are some minor, dings, dents, surface scratches & wear; and other signs of character.   The inside tubing is in good condition.  There are some minor dings on the inside tubing and slides. The original lead pipe does have some minor dings but is in overall good condition.  Please check out the pictures for further clarification of condition.  This is a very nice horn with a lovely sound!  This horn recently came out of the shop and was given an inspection; All of the braces are secure, all of the tuning slides and valves caps move freely, and the valves are fast, quiet, and responsive with like good compression.  The serial number is posted for your review.  The horn comes with a fixed case with 3 functioning latches.  If you are ever in the Chicagoland area, please schedule a visit to come out and test play some horns; I currently have over 10 Conn 8D's for sale.    Priced to sell at $4,950 with free postage in the lower 48 States. All Double French Horn purchases come with a 10 day No-Fuss Return Policy. Buyer may return the horn within 10 days of receiving the horn with no questions asked. The horn must be postmarked and shipped within 10 days of receiving the horn to initiate the return process. Buyer is responsible for return shipping charges. I do not charge a re-stocking fee for returns if you pay by check or cash. I also offer a 5% cash discount if you buy the horn in person. I do charge a 3.5% re-stocking fee if you pay with a credit card or PayPal. Credit card companies and PayPal do not refund payment processing fees. Buyer would be responsible for a 3.5% restocking fee in the case of a return if the payment is made with a Credit Card or PayPal. Payment will be refunded within 1 day of receiving the horn; provided the horn is returned in its original condition.
