Seldom will you see Elkhart 8D's in this condition; the thing that makes this horn even more special is the unbelievable valve compression. I did a valve compression reading on the valves, and each valve had a valve compression reading between 0.6 - 0.9. I recently took this horn to the Midwest Band Conference and horn players really loved playing this horn! THIS HORN IS A PLAYER! The horn has the original finish on it and it looks lovely! There are some minor dings, surface scratches, and other signs of character, but nothing that affects the playability of this instrument. I drove 8 hours to get this horn, and after seeing it, I would have drove 8 more hours to get it! This horn comes with the original bell, and your choice of a brand new Miles O'Malley Nickel Silver or Gold Brass Bell Flare. I had to make a tough choice of cutting the bell after seeing the condition of the original bell Flare. The flare is in good condition, but had extensive dent work done too it. You will get the original M Series Bell and a Brand New Miles O'Malley Flare. I have pictures of the original M series bell flare, and the brand new Miles Flare in the listing. There is a small burn mark by the first branch and where the bell was cut. The original lead pipe looks great. The Conn engraving looks great. This horn is great! The horn was given and inspection and all of the braces are secure, the tuning slides move freely, and the valves are quiet, fast, and responsive with excellent compression. The horn must be postmarked and shipped within 10 days of receiving the horn to initiate the return process. Buyer is responsible for return shipping charges. I do not charge a re-stocking fee for returns if you pay by check or cash. I also offer a 5% cash discount if you buy the horn in person. I do charge a 3.5% re-stocking fee if you pay with a credit card or PayPal. Credit card companies and PayPal do not refund payment processing fees.
