Holton H-178 BEGINNER SPECIAL Double French Horn (Free Shipping Lower 48 States)

Up For Your Consideration Is A Holton 178 Double French Horn being offered at a very fair price!   This would be a great first horn for any student looking to acquire a decent Double French Horn at an affordable price.   The lacquer has been removed and the horn has been given a light brushed finish.   The brushed finish gives the horn a respectable appearance.   This horn has signs of previous dent work and still has some remaining dents.  The lead pipe is a little wavy.  THIS HORN HAS SOME ISSUES BUT STILL PLAYS VERY NICELY.  This would be a great beginner horn to teach your child or student horn maintenance.   This horn recently came out of the shop and was given and inspection. All of the tuning slides move freely, all of the braces are secure, and the valves are fast and responsive.  The valves would require a heavier oil to help out with compression.  All of the valves have compression readings between 2-4.5 after applying a heavier oil.  The horn plays very nice when it is maintained with valve oil.  There are some small dings, dents, surface scratches, and other signs of character.
