Through my many years of restoring Double French Horns, I have realized how frustrating it is for horn players to get their lead pipe replaced at a good price. Getting work done to a good playing used horn is a very responsible decision, and oftentimes economical. Besides, older horns were made much better; and are definitely worth putting money into. I believe there needs to be more options for players to improve the sound of their French Horn when it pertains to replacing that ugly lead pipe. Lead pipes are gross! Believe me, your horn most likely needs an ultrasonic cleaning! You wouldn’t believe the things I have seen come out of a lead pipe.
